The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for a Qualifications Officer to work within the Qualifications Development Directorate team, covering Sports Coaching, Sports Therapy, Physical Activity and Health qualifications.
- Support immediate line manager by taking the lead on maintaining the currency of a credible and fit for purpose qualification range and associated surround, where:

- the range is limited to a number of qualifications from that allocated to the immediate line manager
- operational sign off, of qualification and associated surround is the responsibility of the immediate line manager
- Work in partnership with a range of internal business areas to support the effective delivery of SQA qualifications, goods and services to centres
- Provide information and assistance to support the work of internal business areas; serve on internal committees as required and contribute to the creation of both business area and corporate goals.

Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Be a skilled communicator both orally and in writing, with the ability to produce high quality letters and reports on complex issues, negotiate with stakeholders and give presentations on established policy and procedures
- Evaluate problems and recommend solutions which may be out with existing policy and procedures. Demonstrate an analytical, methodical and creative approach to problem solving.
- Be self-motivated and able to prioritise your own work and the work of others,adapt to changing circumstances, be able to manage and complete well-defined projects and assist with strategic planning.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 7 (SVQ3/HNC) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience suitable for this role.
