The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

We are looking for a Qualifications Officer to work within the Qualifications Development Directorate in our Humanities, Care & Services team covering the National Qualifications Modern Studies and Politics portfolio.
- Under direction, ensure that the development, revision, maintenance and servicing of allocated qualifications, associated surround and services meets SQA’s quality standards prior to operational sign off by the immediate line manager
- Work in partnership with a range of internal business areas to support the effective delivery of SQA qualifications, goods and services to centres.
- Provide information and assistance to support the work of internal business areas; serve on internal committees as required and contribute to the creation of both business area and corporate goals.

Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Have excellent planning and organisational skills
- Be a skilled communicator, both orally and in writing, with the ability to produce high quality letters and reports on complex issues, negotiate with stakeholders and give presentations on established policy and procedures
- Evaluate problems; recommend solutions which may be out with existing policy and procedures. Demonstrate an analytical, methodical, and creative approach to problem solving.
- Be self-motivated and able to prioritise own work and work of others
- Be able to adapt to changing circumstances

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 7 (SVQ3/HNC) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
