The post holder is required to lead on programmes of work outlined within the Trusts EDI Strategic Plan ensuring projects remain on track and meet key achievement milestones. The post holder will lead on the delivery of assigned projects ensuring they are on time and within budget and will co-ordinate, oversee and direct the activities of individual projects.

This role will work closely with our site leadership teams and managers, including the Trust Board to provide expertise and ensure our EDI objectives are mainstreamed throughout the Trust and adopted in policy and practice.

Lead the embedding and mainstreaming of the EDI Strategic Plan to a high standard.

Lead the development of projects and guidance required for the implementation of the EDI Strategic Plan across the organisation. Review the performance of projects and their reporting so that all key objectives and milestones are met.

Review the EDI strategic plan actions and priorities on an annual basis, putting forward recommendations to the Board.

To ensure the Trust makes progress against the national and local EDI and NHS agenda with a focus on statutory compliance requirements (ensuring that national indicators are in met in accordance with timeframes, compliance standards and relevant targets e.g., Equality Delivery System, WRES, WDES, Gender Pay Gap and the production and analysis of annual equality monitoring reports)

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.

Ensure comprehensive monitoring systems are in place to record and facilitate analysis of diversity and inclusion data in line with the national reporting requirements such as Workforce Race Equality Standard, Workforce Disability Standards and Equality Delivery System as well as local requirements. Provide regular written reports on the EDI agenda to the Board of Directors and the site leadership teams, as required. Data will come from several sources and will require complex analysis.

Develop appropriate Trust Strategies, Policies, Schemes, and associated action plans (short and long term) and related initiatives in conjunction with others to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory obligations and NHS requirements/policy drivers and directives in respect the full range of equality, diversity, and human rights requirements.

Review, develop and implement the Equality Impact Assessment process for Trust policies and protocols.

Lead the development and improvement of internal processes and systems that improve the organisation’s ability to analyse the equality impact of its policies, processes and operations on the local community and the workforce.
