Applications are invited from hard working and organised individuals to provide a high quality administrative service to the admin support departments within the Medicine Business Unit based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Duties will include printing clinic lists, booking and sending out appointment letters, requesting case notes and returning them to library, scanning orphan data, ordering stationary and nursing stock, photocopying, accessing and entering data into a number of different computer systems such as CareFlow, therefore it is essential that you are computer literate. Arranging interpreters/transport etc.

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

We now employ around 4,800 staff and currently provide 444 hospital beds across the Gateshead region.

- To develop close working relationships with all staff in all areas of the Trust, and external agencies.
- To ensure that all correspondence is filed within patients case notes in a timely manner and that case notes and departmental records are maintained and updated.
- To ensure the timely registering of patients referrals onto Careflow, booking of patients appointments, end of clinic outcomes codes are actioned as required and processing of 18 week tracking queries.
- Sorting, organising and distributing mail. Dealing with correspondence, including assessing the urgency of incoming letters and assessing the urgency of incoming calls.
- To useCareflow (patient administration system) in order to check clinic availability and utilise available appointment slots, booking new and follow up appointments as required.
- To retrieve case notes and record their movement using the electronic folder tracking modules (Filefast and Careflow).
- To be involving in on-going training and development opportunities and contribute to your own personal development.
