You will work in the Radiology department, booking Imaging appointments and providing an effective and efficient administration service.
Work as part of the imaging appointment booking team, liaising with clinicians and patients to negotiate the most suitable appointment date and time for Interventional Radiology procedures.
Provide an efficient and effective administration service to the Interventional Radiology team including admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Trust policy.
Understand the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure a safe working environment for patients, staff and visitors according to the Trusts’ Health and Safety Policy.

Undertake audio typing on the Computer Radiology Information Systems (CRIS) database via dictation of diagnostic reports for all sectors within Radiology.
Use initiative to provide confidential secretarial and administrative duties for Consultant Radiologists and Management Team
Use personal judgement when covering the help desk (rota cover until 5.30pm). This includes: accessing and issuing diagnostic reports to authorised personnel and addressing doctors queries regarding film reporting.
Verify diagnostic reports for spelling and grammar to allow clinicians timely access to the clinical information therein. Radiologists will remain wholly responsible for the medical content of the report.
Be the contact point in the Radiology Department regarding the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings
Administer X-ray seminar room diary
Disseminate information to staff as instructed by the Consultant Radiologists
Prepare and handle correspondence as required by the Consultant Radiologists or Management Team
Support the Consultant Radiologists and Management Team in the development of care pathways
To ensure a co-ordinated approach to service delivery on both sites to promote good working relations
Support the administration process for private patient diagnostic reports for income generation to the department
Assist in monitoring levels of stationary and non-stock items. Accept delivery of stationary and non-stock items, but not as authorised signatory
Order items of stock and non-stock as required by the management team.
Assist and take minutes at Imaging meetings as required
Continually monitor and suggest improvements to departmental policies and protocols with an aim to improving the service and ensuring the highest standards are met
Assist the Code 5 co-ordinator in ensuring any unexpected urgent reports are tracked and actioned in an appropriate timescale.
Access Somerset register to assist with Imaging Two Week Rule monitoring
Carrying out sundry duties associated with the service delivery of the Directorate of Radiology
