Purchasing Administrator

We are looking to appoint a motivated, conscientious person to join our purchasing team. The main purpose of the job is to provide an effective and efficient purchasing service for packaging in accordance with procedures. Ensuring all purchase orders are promptly generated and expedited as appropriate and using your own initiative to resolve delivery and quality problems.

**Responsibilities**:
- To work with suppliers, colleagues and team members to provide an excellent service.
- Monitor order status, communicating any issues to materials/planning departments.
- Ensure information is processed and communicated efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain system data to ensure it is current.
- Administration of purchase orders for suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers in relation to purchase order processing.
- Manage the order book and expedite outstanding orders.
- Deal with day to day enquiries into the department.
- Work with other departments to resolve issues.
Profile
- Excellent IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong administrative organization skills.
- Accurate with attention to detail.
- Can work independently and in a team.
- Flexible & pro-active.
Background
Ideally from a purchasing or planning environment but full training will be given to the right person.
The following will be an advantage:
- Competitor & product knowledge
- Education to A-Level or equivalent standard
- At least 1 years’ experience in an office environment
