NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services

**Where We Are**:
Our Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank**,** South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. **This post will be based in either our Cardonald or South Queensferry location.**

**_The Role.._**

You would have shared responsibility for the development, delivery and evaluation of the NHS 24 core and continuous professional/clinical development programmes. You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing projects and initiatives, with specific focus on patient and person-centred care.

The Clinical Practice Educator has a leadership role within NHS 24 facilitating the clinical, practice, professional and educational development of approximately 1100 frontline staff, consisting of Nurse Practitioners, Senior Charge Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Call handlers and Pharmacists.

The post holder will deliver robust training programmes which supports and facilitates front line staff in undertaking safe, effective and efficient telephone Triage; signposting to the appropriate care provider.

**_Key Responsibilities:_**
- The post holder will design, develop, support, deliver and evaluate the induction of multiple groups of multidisciplinary staff per year
- The post holder will be an Associate Lead to the Senior Nurse for Practice Education and the Head of Practice Education and Development for a particular specialty area from:

- Practice Development
- Professional Development
- Clinical Development

and consults with the Senior Nurse for Practice Education and Development as appropriate
- The post holder will be expected to work / move between any of these specialist areas whilst maintaining expertise within their specific field and would be required to develop and update their knowledge of the other two areas
- Work to agreed objectives seeking advice and guidance from appropriate individuals when necessary
- In conjunction with team members undertake critical analysis of research to inform and enable best practice
- Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of curriculum development, educational and lifelong learning principles and their implementation in practice
- Undertake continuous robust evaluation of the multidisciplinary induction programmes development of content, delivery and outcomes
- Assist with the implementation and support of the mentorship/ preceptorship period /programme for frontline staff

**_ Successful applicant:_**
- Registered Adult Nurse with extensive experience
- Experience of delivering training/ development programmes essential
- Experience of designing, developing, and evaluating training programmes is desirable
- Experience of telephone or face-to-face consultation / triage is desirable
- Awareness of national strategic professional nursing issues and key NHS policy drivers is essential
- Educated or working towards teaching/practice educator qualification is desirable
- Ability to travel is essential
