**Job Advert - Accounts Administrator**

**The role**

You will be based in our Accounts Department, working with, and reporting to the Accounts Manager, who reports to the Port Manager and Finance Director.

This is a wide-ranging role within a small 3-person team working alongside other departments in the Port.

**The role**
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Credit card and expense processing
- Raising sales invoices
- Sending customer statements
- Calculating weekly timesheets and updating payroll hour slip spreadsheet
- Recording holidays
- Filing paperwork
- Stationery ordering

**Accountabilities**
- Participate in any training deemed necessary in order to improve individual skills
- Active approach in identifying improvements and opportunities
- Ensuring that work is accurately input

**Requirements**:

- At least 1 years’ experience in an account’s environment
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including both English & Maths at Grade 5 (Grade B) or above
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage 50 Accounts
- Understanding of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Outlook
- To be flexible in your approach and agile in your response
- Attention to detail & ability to multitask
- Accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Willingness to learn and develop as the job requires
- Ability to work calmly with a positive attitude under pressure
- Excellent ability to navigate IT equipment e.g. computer
- Able to speak, read and write in fluent English
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal

**Working hours**
- Part time - 20 or 24 hours per week. 5 or 6 hours per day. Monday to Thursday.
- We can be flexible with start and finish times but the preference is working hours between 9am to 3:30pm accounting for a 30-minute lunch break

**Benefits**
- Please note that the salary & benefits are based on a 40-hour week and will be pro rata according to the working hours agreed:

- Salary of £26,000 pro rata
- 20 days annual leave (increasing by 1 day for each year served up to a maximum of 25 days) plus 8 bank holidays pro rata
- Death in service benefit
