The RCHT Commissioning, Performance and Intelligence (CPI) team’s role is to improve patient care through providing expert support and advice to clinical services in Cornwall.

We’re looking for a Performance Officer who combines excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills to work in close partnership with our clinical care groups and corporate teams.

The role will include supporting the Associate Director and Deputy AD for CPI on a range of different areas, including taking on responsibility for providing intelligence to the organisation in terms of providing performance briefings, commentary and analysis on a wide range of different areas, and working closely with colleagues in other departments to support delivery of agreed priorities within and outside the performance review process, as well as becoming an expert on the Trust’s performance accountability framework, benchmarking, and assisting in devising and implementing measures and key performance indicators.

Provide advice and support to the Trust’s clinical and management teams, ensuring understanding of the requirements of their services under the contracts.

Support the Commissioning Manager in carrying out an efficient, effective and high quality contract management approach, ensuring robust contract review mechanisms are adhered to and that performance issues are identified and reviewed.

Present a positive view of the Trust to the Trust’s commissioners, working directly with them and through others as required, ensuring that issues raised by the commissioners are addressed and resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.

To play a key role in terms of training and support within the organisation to ensure that all areas relating commissioning are understood, and that the use of information is embedded into the culture of the organisation.

Support the development and implementation of the annual contracts with NHS England and NHS Kernow which are the Trust’s main sources of income.

Being fully conversant in Payment by Results (PbR), ensuring the impact of PbR is understood within the organisation.
