**About the JAC**
The JAC is responsible for designing, planning, and running recruitment campaigns to select judicial office holders up to and including High Court Judges. We have a statutory duty to select solely on merit, while keeping our selection processes open to the widest range of applicants. We launch a new campaign (selection exercises) for judicial posts every one to two weeks. These range from high volume campaigns for ‘entry level’ posts, attracting upward of 2,000 applicants, to small campaigns for senior roles, attracting a handful of highly qualified people.
Though located at Clive House, Petty France, London, SW1H 9AJ JAC staff are currently working in a hybrid way with some days in the office and some days working remotely. It will be necessary for the successful postholder to work at the JAC location regularly to support business needs.

**The Role**
We are looking for a new **Learning and Development Manager (HEO)** who will work closely with the Senior Learning and Development Manager and the wider Corporate Services Team.
This is a varied and exciting role which involves designing and delivering inductions for new staff; planning and delivering training events, both remotely and face-to-face, and providing advice and support to colleagues across the JAC. The successful role holder will also be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the JAC ‘Operations Manual’ to ensure it reflects changes to the selection processes, and will have oversight of the JAC’s judicial panel training.
There will also be line management responsibility in this role, with the successful role holder responsible for the performance and management of the Learning and Development Officer, ensuring that regular development meetings are undertaken.
You will be a self-starter and able to work on your own initiative, as well as being a good team player. You will have a proven ability to engage, build, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
For this role we are particularly looking for someone who has:

**Main responsibilities of the Learning and Development Manager role include**:
- Delivery of the JAC learning and development initiatives, delivering the proposed actions in line with agreed quality and timescales.
- Delivery of operational selection exercise training events, either in groups or 1-1, to appropriate staff, both remotely and in person.
- Developing and delivering induction training for all new staff as required.
- Ensuring effective records are kept of trainees’ attendance, collate, and evaluate feedback which can be incorporated into the management report for senior leaders.
- Maintaining the JAC Operations Manual, ensuring that it remains current and “fit for business”. Responsibilities include ensuring that the Operations Manual reflects the need of its main users and is easily accessible to all, liaising with colleagues across JAC to ensure it is accurate.
- Oversight of the JAC’s Judicial Panel training activities, liaising closely with colleagues in Judicial Office.
- Line management of the Learning and Development Officer, ensuring that regular development meetings are undertaken.
- Developing and managing effective working relationships with all JAC colleagues, delivery partners and stakeholders, ensuring that all communication/contact is line with the JAC Values.
