**About the role**

This role will sit in the Nos Da Kernow, Early Homeless Prevention Team within the Cornwall Housing's Housing Options Directorate. Nos Da Kernow is a service specialising in targeted early interventions with clients to prevent homelessness. We provide brief and intensive outreach support to people who are experiencing housing difficulties, which if not addressed, may lead to them becoming homeless. The key objective of the service is to identify and support those who are at risk of homelessness in Cornwall at least 56 days prior to them losing accommodation, intervening early and taking action to prevent homelessness.

The service supports people to sustain their existing accommodation or to identify alternative accommodation as appropriate, working with clients to identify any support needs and manage risks to their safety.

The Service is direct access and will accept referrals from all sources across Cornwall. It is only for those who do not fall under any statutory duty (i.e. not within 56 days of homelessness).

**About you**

We are looking for you to bring:

- The ability to work with a range of vulnerable clients and to deal sensitively with challenging and complex issues.
- A people focussed person, you will be passionate about customer service and take pride in delivering an excellent service to both clients and partner agencies
- You will be highly organised, accurate and flexible with the ability to manage a caseload of clients using your own initiative. A confident decision maker.
- Excellent communication with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to act with tact and diplomacy - proven record of calm and measured responses and able to manage in a crisis
