Assessment Hub Supervisor

Cornwall, United Kingdom Cornwall Council Full time

**Who We Are**
The Rough Sleeper Service works to prevent people sleeping rough and to help them move away from sleeping on the street. Where someone does end up sleeping rough, the service intervenes to try and ensure that this episode is rare, brief and non-recurring.

Based within the wider Rough Sleeping Service, the post holder will support the Hub Manager in the smooth running of the Somewhere safe to stay hub, Chough house. This will include supporting staff who will work with people on their journey from rough sleeping through to independence.

The Hub is a place of change, in Truro and sits at the start of the homelessness pathway. It offers a safe space to stay, with support for people with nowhere to stay or referred as being at imminent risk or already rough sleeping. The Hub works with people rough sleeping assessed as non-Priority and new to rough sleeping.

The role holder, and the staff they supervise and work with, will support individuals in their recovery to move from the street back into accommodation, access support to address personal needs, and recultivate positive social circles. Support needs will range from low to very complex and including, but not limited to, drug and alcohol addiction, offending history, poor mental health, financial difficulty and physical health problems.

The post-holder will work in a way that is creative and innovative, agile and flexible, and solution-focused, tailoring their approach to the needs of the person using the service. They will employ a trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach, building on the individual’s strengths and will seek to reduce harm, and prevent people becoming entrenched on the street.

As a supervisor, the postholder will provide specialist advice on housing and related matters to the assessment and support workers in the team, to ensure they engage clients in asset-based assessments to understand their strengths, talents, ambitions and to identify where they may require additional support to move away from rough sleeping. They will also provide an effective, professional caseload supervision for staff, support staff with emotional and physical wellbeing, ensuring that they have knowledge and access to all wellbeing services where appropriate, and ensure timely production of data in an appropriate format to support performance management.
