**Role**:Accidents Records Clerk

**Department**:Operational Support Unit

**Location**:Nunnery Square (currently), Ops Complex, Sheffield (from July)

**Salary**:£21,432 - £23,100 (Pro-rata)

**Hours**: 20.5 Hours per week

**Contract Type**:Temporary (12 months)

**Role Purpose**:
The post holder will provide disclosure of collision data to 3rd parties.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Answer and respond to incoming correspondence
- Deal with and action incoming requests and payment
- Liaise with Police Officers and arrange interviews with solicitors/ insurance companies
- Work closely with legal services in accordance with force policy and guidelines
- Calculate the costs for the supply of information to solicitors/insurance companies in accordance with NPCC charging guidelines
- Must make accurate and consistent decisions on disclosure of collisions in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
- Must prioritise workload on a daily basis to ensure relevant information is supplied to the Courts on time when requested
- Provide advice to Solicitors, Insurance companies, victims and witnesses regarding the progress of the requests and any other information that is required.
- Must utilise a diary system to track ‘Consent’ forms, which are sent out to all individuals involved in an accident i.e. the victim, witnesses, Police Officer on duty etc.

**Skills and experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Educated to GCSE level in English & Maths
- Ability to use a computer, particularly Microsoft packages

**Desirable criteria**:

- Knowledge of Police systems although full training will be given
