**Role Purpose**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead on the accountability and risk management framework for data, ensuring our risk profile is defined, understood, and managed effectively across all areas of the business and within the agreed risk appetite.
- Lead the team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Information Security, Records Management, Information Rights and DBS providing a customer service, support advice and assistance in all areas of data/information governance across the organisation.
- Lead on developing implementing and embedding force-wide risk-based privacy management programme, working closely with the Data Protection Officer and Head of Data Capability.
- Own the Information Asset Register, Information Risk Register, IG Toolkits and supporting policies and procedural instructions.
- Lead on monitoring, auditing, and assessing systems and processes for compliance.
- Manage the governance/secretariat team who work as the interface between Information Asset Owners, the Senior Information Risk Owner, and the Data Boards by providing seamless support and enabling the work of the Boards.
- Ensure the lifecycle of data is understood and well managed across the organisation, including embedding this into new processing activities.
- Document the benefits of the actions of the data office to demonstrate efficiencies and will be central to the delivery of the Data Strategy. Support the CDO in development of the data strategy.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policy and procedural instructions.
- Work at a national level with NPCC leads in Data Protection, FOI, Records Management, and Information Security.
- Support the CDO to manage complex area of legislative/regulatory compliance which is currently undergoing significant change.
- Reporting to Chief Data Officer.
- Responsible for 4x staff E-F Data Security Manager, Disclosure Manager, Records Manager, Risk and Assurance Manager.

Fixed: This is a traditional arrangement, applicable when the work is mostly required to be undertaken at a fixed single place of work (on police premises) for most of the time. The work can only or is more effectively delivered from a police premises or other agreed organisational/partner premises.

Field: This applies to roles that do have a base, however, due to the nature of their duties is required to travel to other locations. Due to the nature of these roles, they cannot accommodate flexible working from home on a permanent basis.

Hybrid: Applicable when the work can be undertaken at any location, whether that be a SYP building or from home.
