**Role Purpose**:
To offer safeguarding and Crime Prevention advice to victims of fraud in South Yorkshire, prioritising high, medium, and repeat vulnerable victims and acting in accordance with the National Fraud Protect Strategy.

To work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders / agencies to assist in safeguarding, crime prevention and building awareness in the arena of fraud.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prioritise and process victim referrals referred by the Fraud Coordination Team (FCT)
- Identify high risk/priority victims/ repeat vulnerable victims (RVV) and victim groups.
- Provide an enhanced service of support and assistance to victims of crime.
- Visit relevant victims following being authorised by line supervisor or duty supervisor prior to attendance.
- Work collaboratively with the Fraud Coordination Team (FCT) to identify vulnerable victims of fraud, from data/Incidents/Crimes or any other data held by the Police or by partner agencies.
- Scan and analyse relevant police computer systems in relation to fraud victims and related crime, in order to identify existing concerns and emerging threats.
- Provide statistical analysis regarding fraud (and related) crime when required.
- Accurately, and within a timely manner record all updates on relevant fraud spreadsheets and/or police systems.
- Conduct bespoke crime prevention measures and advice to individuals or groups.
- Identify where media articles may be of value and send requests to the Media Fraud Manager or if not, available line manager who will consult with media.
- To be the liaison officer to the victim in relation to any media requests.
- To take personal responsibility to submit appropriate referrals/signposting where required such as when aspects of vulnerability concerning a victim are identified.
- Support, train and develop colleagues and volunteers with the police service to enhance the effective delivery of the fraud strategy.
- Identify and build partnerships with other police forces, partner agencies and relevant organisations in relation to Fraud initiatives.
- Design, implement and deliver evidence based Protect advice and campaigns to internal and external partners and the public following authorisation by the line manager.
- Attend Protect related conferences, seminars or regional meetings authorised by line manager.
- Design and prepare a range of resources that can be shared with the wider community in order to influence behaviour and to increase resilience to fraud threats and risks.
- Maintain continuing professional development to ensure that the Force remains aware of statutory obligations and best practice, and that any required policy/procedural changes are implemented.
