This is an exciting time to join the Radiology department at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

We have been awarded the funding to support the vision for the West Essex Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in providing timely access to diagnostics for all of the West Essex population, tackling health inequalities and achieving the 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) for all potential cancer and non-cancer patients

PAHT sites, including St Margaret’s Hospital, Epping (SMH) and Herts’ and Essex Hospital, Bishops Stortford (HEH) via a hub and spoke approach will see better co-location of diagnostic services by offering streamlined diagnostic pathways with fewer appointments in a modern diagnostic setting

Responsible for ensuring a sustainable imaging workforce for all clinical and non-clinical roles cited within the CDC/

Accountable for development of the various staffing cohorts and utilisation of funding to support training and practice development from CPD, HEE and NHSE/I

Strong link to the Practice Development team to support staff with individual clinical skill development

To link in with the Clinical Educational and and the AHP workforce lead for the Trust to establish strategy and new initiatives

Wider system working with the ICB and the EoE Imaging Network 2

To be responsible for the provision of a high-quality Radiographic service to the Trust in respect of the CDC, ensuring compliance with the Code of Professional Conduct, Local and National Radiation Rules, Trust and Departmental Policies and any subsequent legislation at all times.

Work closely within the Radiology Management Team to deliver Trust/CDC priorities.

Able to contribute in each of the imaging clinical areas of the CDC and provide expert advice to colleagues and other clinical staff.

Create, implement and track imaging pathways in respect of workforce alignment and skill mix for all CDC modality activity and plan remedial action when required.

Wider system networking with the HWE ICB and the East 2 Imaging Network.

Liaison with other hospitals within the Trust providing Radiographic services, in conjunction with their Superintendent Radiographer colleagues to ensure effective use of resources including staff allocation and rotation.

Assess workload and initiate change in practice when required to maintain and develop high standards of patient care.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, and St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping.

We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
