Job Description:

The HR Accountant will support the Reward and the Controlling teams to ensure monthly payroll reconciliations and monthly accruals of our incentive programs, will assist with audit preparations and will ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. The HR Accountant will also be responsible to develop and maintain analytical dashboards to analyse Human Capital costs.

The HR Accountant will have extensive contact with multiple internal parties and will provide comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders. This role is for someone who has accounting experience in managing compensation and equity related topics, hands-on, ideally in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for data as well as for innovative technical solutions.

Main Responsilibities:

Payroll reconciliations
  • Prepare global monthly and end-of-year payroll general ledger accounts reconciliations and statements of the Gunvor Group's entities
  • Control and validate accounting entries against source invoices and country payroll GL
  • Liaise with the regional HR teams, external partners when relevant
  • Ensure accounts and banks reconciliations
  • Ensure the accuracy of the monthly payroll expense data and its correct analytical allocation (cost center)
  • Monitor monthly the accounting payroll booking process and its timely completion
  • Manage the global quarterly cost center review process and ensure corrections in payroll are processed accordingly
Short term and long term incentives accrual management
  • Ensure timely exchange of information between Reward and Controlling teams related to different type of bonus accruals (as part of yearly bonus cycle and ad-hoc bonuses)
  • Prepare the relevant accounting entries and coordinate with local accountants
  • Monitor monthly the exposure of the group
  • Manage the accounting of the Share plan and/or long-term incentive programs and coordinate with local accountants
Human Capital controlling
  • Maintain and analyse payroll, budget and associated costs
  • Develop best practices for payroll and labor cost control, analysis and reporting
  • Develop analytical dashboards of Group's payroll expenses and provisions.
  • Uses various software applications, spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics package to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports
  • Liaise with the Financial Planning, Reward Team and Regional HR teams in preparing the analytical human capital accounting reports
  • Support the budgeting/forecasting process
Ensure effective controls processes
  • Ensure effective internal controls for the assigned accounting areas
  • Responsible for internal and external audits
  • Support and comply with the Group's system policies and procedures
Others

Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed

Profile/Key Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent qualification)
  • 5+ years' proven experience in an accounting role, preferably in a multinational company, trading, bank and/or asset management industry
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and practices
  • Experience in share plan and/or long-term incentive programs accounting
  • External Audit or Accounting firm experience considered a plus
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills & ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Attention to details, precise and rigorous
