Overview
Our client is a leading transport and logistics company with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability. They are currently looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced HR Advisor to join their team based in Tilbury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Play a critical role in managing and enhancing the employee experience within the organisation.
  • Manage the end to end recruitment and employee onboarding process.
  • Manage inductions, holidays, absences and probation reviews.
  • Carry out pre-employment checks including references, right to work and DBS checks.
  • Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees on various HR matters, including policies, procedures, and employee relations.
  • Oversee employee performance management, including appraisals, development plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Payroll processing for around 250 employees.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture through engagement and communication initiatives.

Person Specification:

  • Possess several years experience within a HR Advisor or Assistant role preferably within either Retail, Logistics, Construction or Manufacturing businesses.
  • CIPD qualifications preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing, recruitment and onboarding.
  • Efficient, process-driven and with an eye for administrative detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
