London, United Kingdom Thomson Reuters Full time

Senior Deal Desk Consultant - Thomson Reuters

We anticipate the successful candidate being based in London, UK. Other European locations may be considered.

Great communicator? Want to combine your commercial and problem-solving skills to ensure our sales teams are making the best deals with the most efficient processes? This might be the role for you.

The Deal Desk team are the strategic partners and advisors to Thomson Reuters' Go-To-Market teams. We facilitate the deal structures and requests that our clients demand and factor this into Thomson Reuters' wider commercial strategies. We drive scale within the Go-To-Market functions whilst creating efficiencies, profitability, and enabling effective governance, allowing our Sales teams to focus primarily on selling.

The Senior Deal Desk Consultant will become an expert in our policies, processes, and systems. You'll advise, coach, and train Sales Reps on a day-to-day basis to efficiently work with Thomson Reuters' sales processes and policies. Additionally, you'll have the autonomy to lead initiatives that improve our processes and systems to ensure we have the most robust and efficient processes in place.

About the Role

As Senior Deal Desk Consultant at Thomson Reuters, you will:

  • Serve as the go-to trusted advisor for the Sales teams. You'll solve complex commercial problems, enacting deal strategy through the deal process and coordinating the execution of deals through internal processes and systems.
  • Serve as an expert in advanced Deal Desk activities, educating Sales teams on changes in processes, policies, and best practices to improve performance of the sales cycle, releasing Sales capacity to core sales activities.
  • Lead ongoing and month-end reporting as well as other activities to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Lead projects with cross-functional teams in support of executing selling activities, in the roll-out of new and enhanced product releases and policies, and in the improvement of processes.
  • Ensure governance is in place so that Sales teams are operating within the Rules of Engagement and Commercial Policy. Work directly and partner with cross-functional teams to drive effective governance for TR and its policies.
  • Understand end-to-end processes and serve as an expert on the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional support teams. You'll ensure issues are resolved quickly, and will identify, scope, and deliver process and systems/automation improvements in operations for the Sales cycle.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to other team members, assisting with on-boarding, day-to-day training, coaching, and collaborating to solve commercial problems. You'll take ownership and program manage issues that are barriers to closing deals effectively, driving resolution across all back-office teams.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Deal Desk Consultant at Thomson Reuters if you have:

  • Experience of managing and improving processes across a sales cycle, customer contracting, or managing complex commercial projects.
  • A strong commercial background and analytical approach to processes and problems within a sales cycle. You'll bring a track record in supporting customer contracting activities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent partnership skills with the ability to collaborate with different functional groups, in different regions, across cultures where face-to-face opportunities are minimal.
  • The ability to work in a complex matrix environment within a team or as a single contributor.
  • Strong business acumen, organizational, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively evolve the status quo and enhance working practices, allowing teams to focus on and execute against agreed OKRs.
  • The ability to work in unstructured environments and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Order Capture, SAP, and Oracle is a plus.
  • Ability to process a high volume of transactions with accuracy and integrity.

Please Note: Completed applications must be submitted by 23:59 (GMT) on Wednesday 1st January 2025. Early applications are encouraged.
