We are actively searching for a passionate individual with local government experience to become our Head of HR & Payroll. 

Join us at our Council during this dynamic period of change and play a pivotal role in driving and supporting our transformation initiatives.

Collaborate closely with Service Directors, other Heads of Service, and senior managers to lead and manage a team of HR and Payroll professionals. 

Your expertise will ensure the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:  

Collaborate closely with Service Directors, Heads of Service, and senior managers to drive transformation initiatives. Lead and manage a team of HR and Payroll professionals, ensuring the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Align our council's vision, strategy, and delivery plans with transformation efforts. Shape the future of our council by building a high-performing workforce. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through your HR expertise. 

Qualifications and Requirements

Seasoned HR professional with demonstrable experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge and understanding of local government operations. Passion for working within the public sector and contributing to the community. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with takeholders at all levels. Proven track record in driving organisational transformation and managing change. Sound knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
