We are actively seeking a seasoned HR professional to become our Head of HR & Payroll, who can drive and support our transformation initiatives.

This dynamic role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with Service Directors, other Heads of Service, and senior managers to lead and manage a team of HR and Payroll professionals.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge and understanding of local government operations, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving transformation initiatives in collaboration with Service Directors, Heads of Service, and senior managers.
  • Leading and managing a team of HR and Payroll professionals to ensure the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Aligning our council's vision, strategy, and delivery plans with transformation efforts.
  • Building a high-performing workforce through fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate individual with local government experience, who is eager to contribute to the community. A proven track record in driving organisational transformation and managing change is essential.

We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for career development.
