The Strategic Account Director is responsible for maintaining and growth within 1 or more of the most strategic accounts. You will empower, and manage cross-functional teams with an open, trusted, and innovative approach. You will take overall responsibility for revenue, setting the strategic direction and pipeline strategy, as well as overseeing key strategic initiatives in specific accounts. You will also be expected to contribute as a member of the European EDA team.

You will report to the Area Director for EMEA.

The Role
  • Provide direction to the most strategic account(s)
  • Responsible for all sales activities contributing to revenue targets
  • Maintain an appropriate focus on competitive, customer and technology landscapes to form strategic, near term and long-term outlooks
  • Directly managing the sales operations through sales managers, strategic, keys and territory account managers. Taking care of development and closing of major contracts, key accounts, and executive level customer relationships
  • Collaboration with product divisions and corporate management.
  • Managing and communicating an accurate sales forecast for these accounts
  • Develop multi-year initiatives and campaigns across these accounts
  • Developing multi-year account plans and engagement process.

Your Profile
  • Significant experience in the EDA industry.
  • Honors Degree in engineering and a business level degree, MBA ideal.
  • Consistently exceeds expectations and exceeded yearly sales goals.
  • Has managed teams directly and indirectly. Good virtual management skills, ideally worldwide.
  • Leadership skills across worldwide teams, divisions and customers.
  • Coaches others within their team and outside their team
  • Working on Worldwide accounts.
  • Have put together and executed 3 year account plans. Defined the strategy and driven the strategy to grow the business.
  • Understand the whole sales process, approach and how to close sales opportunities.
  • Negotiated directly complex multi-year proposals with global customers.
  • Have been on a number of continuously professional development courses and workshops to improve their sales approach.
  • Growth Mindset, Embrace change Intensity, Focus, Beating the Competition, Openness and Honesty
  • Excellent communication to ensure everyone within the team is clear on the goals and direction they are going.

  • Have coached their team at all stages of the sales process to ensure repeatable success.
  • Advocate for change within their organisation. Adopt new practices and approaches all the time.
  • Worked at the CEO/CxO level.
  • Drive deep and broad across large accounts.
  • Experience of managing a complex account with many projects and sites worldwide.
  • Grown new technologies across customers and have being creative to establish new revenue streams and continuous business.
  • Develop service level engagements based on the outcomes customers are looking for.
  • Change Management - Embrace change and are able to motivate teams during times of change.
  • Can build strong relationships internally and externally that span companies.
  • Manage forecasting, pipeline management, account planning and sales uncovering.

Personal Attributes
  • They have many year of experience in direct sales from territory, to key/major accounts, to European accounts to global accounts
  • They have a disciplined approached to working in sales. Do what is required to close the deal at the right time
  • Do not leave any stone unturned, deal with all issues effecting a sale, work internally and externally to solve these issues
  • Track record of consistently over achieving goals and targets
  • Technical knowledge of the challenges customers are trying to solve in the electronics and semiconductor industry
  • Business knowledge of the challenges customers are facing in meet their business goals
  • Extensive stamina and tenacity to deliver what is required
  • Work at all levels within customers. From CxO level to engineer level
  • Ability to deal with complex situation and presenting complex solutions in a clear way

This role can be based out of any EMEA location we have a presence.
