**What you’ll do**
The Strategy Execution Team (SET) is accountable to the UK CEO/Board for enabling the effective and efficient execution of Vodafone UK’s (VFUK) strategy, including enterprise-wide delivery performance. The Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) team is a pivotal element of Strategy Execution. It is accountable for the orchestration of Executive Governance, which maximises the value delivered through investment by aligning UK Board-level investment and delivery decision making to strategy, delivery performance and risk, pro-actively exploiting opportunities and ameliorating challenges.
The Principal - SPM is a key leadership role within SPM, supporting the Senior Manager - SPM in the continuing evolution and ongoing execution of Executive Governance (which culminates in a monthly Board-level steering meeting). Core accountabilities and responsibilities include Strategy & Wholesale (S&W) Portfolio Manager, delivery assurance across VFUK (leveraging both Waterfall and SAFe methodologies) and supporting the execution of the VFUK Capex Investment Plan process. This role will also have a part to play in the implementation of Lean Portfolio Management as VFUK makes its journey to SAFe adoption. The Principal - SPM will work with the S&W Director/Leadership Team, Business Unit (BU)/Functional Portfolio Managers, Technology Delivery Teams, Finance, as well as SET’s EPMO and Programme Management Centre of Excellence.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Deliver the S&W Portfolio, aligned to the Director and Leadership Team’s requirements. Accountable for the collation, approval, and mobilisation of the Portfolio’s investment plan, and then the subsequent delivery of that plan to time, cost and quality (including ongoing oversight of delivery performance across the team).
- Optimise the performance of business delivery across VFUK: support migration to SAFe/LPM WoW, identify and remediate thematic issues impacting the execution of delivery, and ameliorate specific challenges where applicable. Where required, assume responsibility for deliveries.
- Support execution of the VFUK Capex Investment Plan process. Facilitate the enterprise-wide alignment of demand to strategy and risk in support of Board-level investment decisions, enabling effective prioritisation of funds and resources across the organisation, optimising the value delivered.
- Support, as required, the Senior Manager - SPM in the orchestration, preparation, and delivery of the monthly UK Board meeting (Executive Governance):
- Review individual Portfolio, and enterprise-level, data & analytics to identify discrete and thematic actionable points.
- Identify specific scopes of work at risk, which require executive remediation to ensure desired outcomes.
- Facilitate cross-portfolio alignment to enable effective executive level escalation and decision making within Executive Governance.
