Human Resources Advisor UK

Mission: To actively contribute to providing pro-active, effective Human Resources solutions to Melia UK Hotels, and to provide support to all areas of Human Resources. You will support the HR Team in providing a friendly and efficient HR administration service to all Heads of Department and individual employees.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • To provide general information and answer routine questions regarding the application of human resources policies and procedures to employees and managers.
  • To issue all offer letters, contracts of employment and contractual changes letters, along with reviewing and processing other documents pertaining to new starters, leavers, benefits enrolment, and change of contractual terms and conditions, verifying for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policy and procedural requirements.
  • To manage personnel data and paperwork in paper files and in the established people management systems, including new starters, amendments and terminations.
  • To follow up with appropriate managers as necessary to ensure resolution of problems involving incomplete, inaccurate, or non-compliant documentation.
  • To assist the HR leads in advising managers and staff regarding requests for flexible working, maternity, paternity, parental, emergency family leave and compassionate leave, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and related Company policies and procedures.
  • In conjunction with the on-property HR leads, support & provide effective and pro-active advice to line managers on all employee related issues, including disciplinary and grievance, performance management and sickness and absence management, in line with Company policies and procedures, current UK legislation and best practice.

We seek:

  • Be CIPD qualified and have an excellent knowledge of UK employment Law.
  • Previous experience as HR Generalist or HR Advisor in Hospitality
  • Have proven experience of managing employee relations cases, end to end including disciplinary, grievance, probation, and well-being cases.
  • Support Line Managers on the correct application of policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, presentation & interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English - spoken & written
