Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated HR Advisor to support our Human Resources division within the Corporate sector.

This is a full-time position on a permanent basis. The role is designed for candidates based in the UK, adhering to the operational requirements of our organization.

Our organization is committed to a flexible, hybrid working model, which necessitates a minimum of 8 days per month on-site to foster collaboration and engagement with stakeholders. Depending on business needs, this may increase to 12 days monthly, with the remaining time being flexible between remote and office work.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency plays a vital role in enhancing public health through the regulation of medicines and medical devices, grounded in scientific research.

The Corporate Group encompasses Human Resources, Commercial, Finance, and Infrastructure and Laboratory Services teams, all focused on facilitating the Agency's success by ensuring the effective delivery of regulatory activities.

The Human Resources department is dedicated to empowering leaders within the Agency to manage their teams effectively, promoting positive business and patient outcomes. We provide specialized advice and guidance throughout the employment lifecycle, emphasizing continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Role Responsibilities

The HR Advisor role is dynamic and offers exposure to various activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with specific business areas to build strong working relationships, fostering trust and confidence to influence people-related actions.
  • Managing employee casework effectively, including absence management, conduct, performance, and grievances, in collaboration with Trade Union representatives.
  • Advising managers and staff on people policies and complex queries related to terms and conditions, pay, benefits, and recruitment strategies.
  • Leading various ad hoc projects, collaborating with the HR team, analyzing workforce data, participating in job evaluations, and developing policy documents.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Communication and Influence (Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and build relationships).
  • Efficiency (Ability to monitor work against milestones and adjust priorities to maintain performance).
  • Experience in managing employee relations cases, including complex issues.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and ACAS guidelines, particularly concerning employee relations.
  • Experience advising managers and staff on people policies and procedures.
