Works within Asda's Service Operations & Infrastructure Technology directorate,
reporting into the Head of Function and with accountability for the establishment,
operation and continual development of the assigned practices, working in true
partnership with the supplier and with a steadfast focus on business outcomes and value delivery.

Leads the newly established Service Level Management and Reporting practices
and oversees provision by the strategic partner. The role sits within the Service
Portfolio function, and sets the bar for the introduction of best practice in line
with tech-wide transformation goals. The practice works across Technology as
outputs and activities are consumed and executed in a matrix, federated fashion by all production support teams, whether in house or external.

Works closely with the strategic partner to establish the service and define operational standards, procedures and reporting to support performance, data integrity and compliance. Directs, governs and assures delivery of the outsourced services to the levels defined. Expertise and experience working alongside and/or overseeing large strategic IT partners on an operational level is essential.

Responsibilities

Contract Management
Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan.Contract Requirements
Identify contract requirements and write specifications for a small portfolio or area of the business for existing contracts and/or new contracts.External Consultant or Contractor Engagement
Prepare briefings and information for external consultants or advisers to support the delivery of key projects and/or ad hoc services. Monitor and evaluate
outcomes and recommend remedial actions where necessary.Business Requirements Identification
Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the
requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.Leadership and Direction
Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's
strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision;
motivate people to achieve local business goals.Policies and Procedures Development
Contribute to the drafting of policies, procedures, and related guidelines within an area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.Performance Management
Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.Organizational Capability Building

expertise.General Experience
Comprehensive expertise in the practices is required in both a strategic and
tactical capacity together with a good appreciation of Service Management
methodology, process and tooling (using Service.Now) in line with ITIL/ISO best practice and insight into interaction and integrations across the Service Value Chain. Has knowledge and experience of working in a complex, high volume, highly structured IT environment, supported by metrics, KPIs, service levels and management insightsWork Where it Works
