Works within Asda's Service Operations & Infrastructure Technology directorate,
reporting into the Head of Function and with accountability for the establishment,
operation and continual development of the assigned practices, working in true
partnership with the supplier and with a steadfast focus on business outcomes
and value delivery.


Leads the newly established ITSM Configuration Management practice, working with the strategic partner to define the strategy and set the bar for the introduction of best practice, automation and expansion of the CMDB in line with tech-wide transformation goals. Works closely with the central Service.Now platform team, Technology Operations function leads, ITSM practice owners, wider platform and products teams plus outsourced partners across the Service Value Chain on the design, implementation and operation of the CMBD strategy. Works closely with thestrategic partner to establish the service and define the operational standards,
procedures and reporting to support performance, data integrity and compliance.

Directs, governs and assures delivery of the outsourced services to the levels
required. Experience of working in a matrix environment alongside and/or
overseeing large strategic IT partners from an operational perspective, is
essential.

Responsibilities

Business Requirements Identification
Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the
requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.Leadership and Direction
Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's
strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision;
motivate people to achieve local business goals.Policies and Procedures Development
Contribute to the drafting of policies, procedures, and related guidelines within an area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.Performance Management
Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.Organizational Capability Building
Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.Budgeting
Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues.SkillsITSM Experience
Comprehensive expertise in delivering the practice is required in both a strategic and tactical capacity together with advanced knowledge of Service Management methodology, process, tooling (using Service.Now) and best practice in line with ISO19770 and ITIL. Expertise in design and implementation of the CMDB, including use of discovery and integration tooling is key.Policy and Regulation
Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on
interpreting and applying knowledge of regulations and policies in area of
expertise.Supplier Management
Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding
