London, Greater London, United Kingdom University of Roehampton Full time

We are seeking applications from highly motivated candidates who will contribute to the development and delivery of new programmes in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Roehampton. This is a unique opportunity to join us as we launch new pre-registration speech and language therapy programmes.

This role will be based in the School of Education, with close links to our School of Life and Health Sciences, which has programmes in nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

To meet the growing demand for Speech and Language Therapists, we are expanding into this area. We are looking for applicants with experience in this field, either as a practitioner or within Higher Education, who have the skills to create high-quality provision. We are in the process of developing employer-led academic programmes, gaining accreditation with relevant professional bodies and creating a network of partnerships for placements. A core value of the team is engaging with community partners to meet the needs of learners, service users and practice.

This role will include teaching related duties and being the main placement and practice partnership coordinator, so experience and commitment to this aspect of the curriculum is essential. Creative and innovative approaches to support learners to gain practice skills are welcomed.

You are expected to have a current HCPC and RCSLT registration and have a well-rounded understanding of Speech and Language Therapy practice and healthcare education policy. Experience is sought from a wide range of clinical areas. There will be an opportunity to bring your clinical experience into the curriculum design stage.

You will also contribute to the development and profile of professional education at the University through engagement with relevant research or knowledge exchange (this could include a range of activities such as engagement with clinical practice providers or professional bodies), and scholarly activity.

The School of Education has a long-established international reputation for high-quality teaching and research. Our mission is to develop and apply world-class research, practitioner skills and knowledge to improve outcomes and achievements for all children and young people, both at home and abroad.
