We are expanding Arla Foods currently have opportunities for a class 1 HGV day driver/Office Supervisor at our Stourton Inbound Depot Working as part of our Inbound Logistics team.

Do you hold a clean class 1 licence, Tacho Card and CPC? If so, then we want to hear from you

What does the job entail we hear you say? You are a motivated individual with a Class 1 License and a valid CPC, who knows about supply chain processes and sticking to health and safety rules. It's therefore vital you can understand and read all signage, and communicate well with others, internal colleagues and external customers alike. What's more, you're as serious about quality as we are – because you will be seeing our Farmer owners.

You will Join our Stourton Logistics Team, with our Operations manager, Shift Managers, Leading hands and our other HGV Drivers who are all working tirelessly helping to feed the nation.

What will you do?

  • Manage drivers while they out on the road assisting with any issues that need resolving.
  • Despatch drivers at the beginning of their shift. Vehicle folders & keys, trip sheets and scratch sheets handed out.
  • Send vehicles in for Service/MOTs. Making sure the vehicle has been checked before leaving site.
  • Responsibility to make sure all drivers and people on site adhere to site rules.

  • Ensure all contractors sign out and complete the relevant defect sheet if appropriate.
  • Issue a list of jobs to the engineer at the be-ginning of the shift and monitor progress.

What you'll need in order to be successful for the role

  • Office experience – with a HGV class 1 licence is essential and a good understanding of Logistics Operations
  • Must be able to debrief and pre-brief drivers & communicate clearly
  • Be able to problem solve, deal with internal and external stakeholders & competently run a shift of up to 30 people
  • Have basic IT knowledge & competent usage of Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Day Positions: Hourly day rate of Monday to Friday - Hourly - £16.22. Saturday – £18.12 Sunday £19.03 , Bank Holidays £20.70 per hour. Guaranteed 42.5hrs per week. Overtime shift payment of £40.

Night Positions: Hourly night rate of Monday to Friday - Hourly £18.47 Saturday – £20.37 Sunday £21.26 Bank Holidays £22.94 guaranteed 42.5hrs per week. Overtime shift payment of £40.
