Sub-Functional Business Lead - ESH

This role exists in order to provide leadership and direction at a sub-functional level, for the effective management of the Function, supporting the Head of ESH in the day-to-day functional operations to enable AWE to deliver its programme safely and in compliance with its legal obligations.

Location: Basingstoke/Reading. This role offers hybrid working.

Salary: Starting from £58,220 (depending on skills and experience)

Key Accountabilities:

Encourages good Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality practice across the Company.Provides leadership to the sub-function with focus upon effective and efficient management mechanisms and services.Provide support to the Head of ESH for the day-to-day operations of the Sub-Function to meet the AWE programme requirements.Accountable to the Head of ESH for managing function 'supply & demand' and be the primary interface with Business Operations and, in conjunction with them, provide oversight and advice to accountable function senior leadership on resource management, to include, but not exclusively, timecard anomalies, capacity management, capability gaps in service offering, absence levels, and requests for additional resource.Provide oversight and advice on budgets to accountable function senior leadership in conjunction with business ops team and in line with business timeframes.Lead on the development and deployment of the function offering through the deployment of a service catalogue and continuous 'marketing' of the function offering with the appropriate people i.e., customers, Head of Profession.Accountable for coordinating the sub-functional internal programme/improvement plan of activities including those for second line of defence assurance purposes.Accountable for establishing and ensuring effective and efficient business mechanisms for operating the sub-function are implemented and maintained. (e.g. Metrics/Reporting, Governance, LoD 2 Monitoring, FEPs, SLAs, People Processes, internal communications, etc.).Championing excellence in business performance through systems innovation and continuous improvement activities such as capturing and providing detailed information on the internal and external costs and identifying any trends and subsequent areas of opportunity for improvement.Manage and monitor function Risks and Opportunities.Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.Nuclear Baseline Role - Monitoring of Compliance.Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for negotiating with the Discipline Leads, Service Integration Leads and the Business Operations team and other key stakeholders to manage functional and organisational shape and people/resource costs and drive efficiencies and to assist in the deployment, development, and support of functional personnel.Interfaces and negotiates with Programme, Projects, Functions, Sub Functions, Services and key stakeholders in delivering the Programme.Responsible for maintaining excellent communications with internal stakeholders, influencing, and negotiating at all levels.The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.
