An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mid-level Associate / Trade Mark Attorney to join an established team in London. This is a 12-month fixed term contract offering the chance to be part of one of the largest departments in the office. What you'll do:
As an Associate Trade Mark Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing advice on a broad spectrum of brand-related issues. You will be instrumental in managing worldwide trade mark and design portfolios, dealing with prosecution issues, and managing trade mark disputes. Your responsibilities will also include conducting online investigations, supervising junior team members, and fostering client relationships. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Provide advice on a wide range of brand-related issues, both non-contentious and contentious
* Assist in the management of worldwide trade mark and design portfolios
* Deal with prosecution issues, draft arguments, and prepare evidence in response to Trade Mark Office objections
* Manage trade mark disputes and draft settlement agreements
* Conduct in-use (online) investigations and research
* Supervise and train junior team members
* Build new and develop existing relationships with clients


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Associate Trade Mark Attorney position will bring proven post-qualification experience from a leading law firm or IP practice. You should have exposure to international portfolio management for trade marks and designs, as well as experience managing contentious IP matters. A clear understanding of the operation and structure of a commercial law firm is essential. Strong presentation skills, ability to deal with high-volume workload effectively, and working knowledge of intellectual property rights are key attributes that will ensure success in this role.

Proven post-qualification experience as a solicitor or a trade mark attorney within a comparable environment
* Experience in International portfolio management for trade marks and designs
* Ability to manage negotiations connected with contentious IP matters
* Experience with global enforcement and watching programmes; domain name disputes; and contentious registry/court proceedings
* Strong presentation skills or willingness to improve presentation skills
* Working knowledge of the full spectrum of intellectual property rights other than trade marks, including copyright and design rights
