Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Developer Advocate to drive developer documentation and content creation efforts related to 's creator platforms, including FiveM and RedM. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our technology, product, and community teams, providing strategic support and actionable insights to empower our creator community. This role requires not just an understanding of the code itself but also the charisma and clarity to present these concepts to our creator ecosystem.

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar's unique game development studio in the heart of London.

WHAT WE DO

  • We create technology, tools, and solutions to enhance the creator experience and empower our community to create and share any experience imaginable.
  • We deliver a technology platform that enables creators to develop their own game modes and other modifications in a variety of scripting languages and for players to experience this content on fully customized dedicated servers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Translate complex technical information details into clear, compelling presentations that can engage a variety of audiences, from aspiring first-time creators to experienced developers.
  • Work in close collaboration with internal development teams to gain a deep understanding of our technologies and advocate effectively for our community's needs.
  • Produce engaging and informative content, including blogs, articles, video tutorials, and API documentation, that educates our community on how to effectively use our technologies and explore the full potential of our ecosystem.
  • Maintain close relationships with the FiveM and RedM creator community, fostering engagement and collaboration.
  • Manage and guide community contributions to open-source code repositories to ensure quality and adherence to project standards.
  • Work closely with the product, engineering, marketing, and community teams to ensure a seamless developer experience.
  • Track and report on key metrics to measure the success and impact of developer community related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 years in technical writing or developer advocacy, preferably within a technology-focused or gaming company.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Lua, C# and JavaScript and a solid understanding of game modding communities and technologies.
SKILLS
  • Proven ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts in an engaging and understandable manner.
  • Capability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with a proven track record of working constructively with both internal teams and external communities.
PLUSES

  • Direct experience with FiveM/RedM technologies and active participation in our communities.
  • Experience creating technical content for platforms like YouTube, blogs, or developer forums.
