Regulatory Coordinator


As a Regulatory Co-ordinator, you will be part of our UK Scientific and Regulatory Affairs directorate reporting into the Head of Regulatory Affairs working across all L'Oréal UK & Ireland brands and divisions.

Your role will focus on supporting the regulatory activities and regulatory intelligence in relation to UK cosmetics, chemicals and product safety.

Purpose


To protect L'Oréal UK's license to operate in marketing innovative beauty care products by demonstrating compliance with the UK regulatory cosmetic and chemical framework.

Key elements of the role

  • UK REACH project management including providing support to Group REACH regulatory and analytical teams as well as coordination of external consultants in our registration obligations.
  • Management of UK REACH budget and finances assuring the correct budget is secured for the work in addition to the management of POs for UK REACH invoices, service providers and vendors.
  • Gather regulatory intelligence and horizon scanning on the UK chemical framework and, where necessary, providing evidence for impact assessments on upcoming regulatory changes on L'Oréal UK's products or operations.
  • Working closely with the Head of Regulatory Affairs to support in cosmetics and chemical regulation, providing advice and guidance on regulatory enquiries to the business as needed to maintain legal trading.
  • Point of contact for regulatory and enforcement queries relating to the Republic of Ireland, working with and managing responsibilities with L'Oréal EU and Global teams.
  • Input in drafting regulatory strategies and SOPs for brining products to market and supporting in all regulatory compliance aspects throughout the product lifecycle identifying and mitigating regulatory risks.
  • Creating and maintaining regulatory documentation and records, such as submissions and technical files.
  • Working collaboratively with intradepartmental teams in product compliance and regulatory queries.
  • Support in the internal training of UK regulatory matters on regulatory requirements or updates.

You Have:

  • Honours degree in either one of the sciences (particularly, chemistry, biochemistry, biology or pharmacology) or law (LLB, BA or other related recognised equivalent).
  • An understanding of REACH and UK chemical legislation with a keen desire to develop knowledge in this area.
  • Experience of working within the cosmetic industry is desirable; however, previous experience working within a regulated environment is essential.
  • Excellent project management skills working across nations on complex subjects.
  • Strong cooperative team spirit.
  • An aptitude for information systems and data management, including Excel.
  • French speaking is desirable or would be beneficial but not required.
