Join us as a Head of Performance & Business Management

  • Take on a key role in working with the Chief Operating Office (COO) of Commercial & Institutional (C&I) and the COO Management Team to ensure successful implementation of strategy, transformation, delivery and controls
  • We'll look to you to provide efficient and effective day-to-day operational management of the COO team across C&I
  • This engaging role offers the prospect of significantly raising your professional profile through exposure to senior stakeholders and the chance to shape a high-performing team
  • Although some of your time will be spent working from home, you'll also spend at least three days each week, or as required, working from our London office to collaborate and connect with your colleagues

What you'll do

As Head of Performance & Business Management, you'll be providing strategic advice to the COO of C&I and the COO Management Team on how to best support the franchise's goals and objectives. You'll work across disciplines and across the Group on a wide variety of topics, bringing clarity and direction to ambiguous tasks and ensuring high quality execution.

You'll ensure that business management disciplines are executed in a strategic way, including governance, financial management, records management, communications and people management. You'll balance the needs of the COO function and represent those appropriately across C&I and Group as required.

You'll also be:

  • Taking the lead on papers, presentations and speeches for the C&I COO for senior external and internal audiences, making sure that complex information is presented with clarity and balance for an executive audience
  • Managing actions from C&I CEO and Executive Committee, working collaboratively with senior colleagues inside and outside C&I
  • Leading and shaping the business management team on activities, projects and processes
  • Overseeing and implementing business-wide, divisional and business activities, engagement agendas such as pay, operating rhythms and the creation of papers
  • Reviewing relevant MI and providing ad-hoc analysis of data

The skills you'll need

We're looking for a leader with experience of working in strategic, COO or business management roles with senior stakeholders. You'll need strong knowledge of the financial services sector and experience leading and shaping a high performance team. You must have strategy experience in a consulting environment as well as in-house within financial services.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • The ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical, research and communication skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills, including Teams
  • Significant experience writing senior level documents and papers up to Board level
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to turn ambiguity into structured thoughts and pragmatic solutions
  • The ability to lead directly and indirectly, with strong influencing skills
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills
