VNA Recruitment are currently searching for a Benefits and Housing Needs Assistant for our client based in Hackney.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Dealing with all enquiries and referalls for discretionary awards, budgeting, money management and access to welfare benefits, providing advice and information
  • Recognising the root causes of the problem and participating in appropriate remedial action
  • Visiting/interviewing customers in their homes and any other local offices to verify details of their circumstances
  • Communicating and interpreting the relevant information to the customer and their representatives and exploring the options to enable the customer to make decisions
