Happydays UK are an expanding charity supporting adults and families in crisis.

We are looking for a volunteer to be a Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees to support the development of our Food Services.

We currently provide a Food bank service to over 200 people per week and a free café to 150 people per week.


Essential Skill Set and experience.

  • Experience in running a Food Warehouse and Distribution Centre
  • Experience of leading an efficient picking and packing operation
  • Ability to advise on Health and Safety
  • Experience of the appropriate racking and equipment needed for this type of operation

VOLUNTEER ROLE PROFILE

  • Provide expertise to a project team to develop a Food Bank Distribution Hub to bring together all food banks in Calderdale to efficiently supply food to people suffering food poverty.
  • Research food poverty services and produce recommendations to the Board to help shape the strategic intent to increase food poverty provision in Calderdale.
  • Build networks of suppliers who are willing to support this charitable project to eliminate food poverty in Calderdale.
  • Provide insights from our current services and make recommendations to improve our current provision to one of excellence.
  • Advise on Food, Health, and Hygiene Standards
  • Provide guidance and support for appropriate risk assessments.
  • Meet with external stakeholders to build relationships and a network of others that want to support people in food poverty.
