A fantastic opportunity has been made available to join the bank as a Service Manager within Payments IT. This is a very exciting time for the Payments IT Team as we transform how we operate within the Bank as part of the Payments Centre of Excellence. Payments IT is responsible for deliveries covering all payments methods both domestic and international. We service all of our internal and external customer's Payments needs in a secure, reliable and innovative manner.

The difference you will make:

  • You'll assist in delivering a best-in-class SaaS, 3rd party and key supplier service management function.
  • Providing a central leadership function for obsolescence and vulnerability remediation within Payments
  • Deliver technical analysis and refining processes to ensure smooth running across the teams - both internally and for third parties.
  • You'll be able to analyse and report accurately, paying close attention to detail.
  • Taking personal responsibility for clear and accurate reporting.
  • Managing your workload proactively, to ensure the correct focus on priorities aligned to Payments CoE and the wider bank and our customers.


What you will bring:

  • A working knowledge of Payments systems and processes
  • An excellent managerial skillset - a proven leader
  • Experience or working knowledge of assets and the CMDB working model
  • Experience of defining processes
  • Ability to clearly document as-is, to-be and changes to processes
  • Strong technical understanding/abilities
  • Very strong communication skills

It Would Also Be Nice for You to Have:

  • Full lifecycle delivery experience
  • Evidence an understanding or experience of different delivery methodologies
  • Experience defining and measuring SLA and associated reporting.
  • Experience of SOX controls and processes
  • Technical obsolescence experience

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs.

  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
  • We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don't contribute yourself. We'll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
  • 30 days' holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after five years service, with the option to purchase up to five contractual days per year.
  • £6,000 car allowance per year.
