Are you ready for the exciting opportunity and challenge to be developed into a Band 6 OT in our band 5 developmental program.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and versatile team player to join our Band 6 rotation across Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with an interest and experience in neurology to join our neuro rotation. You will be part of a large, friendly, and dynamic multidisciplinary team, based at Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals, with rotations in Hand therapy, specialist medicine, surgery, HASU and acute stroke, acute neurosciences, Major Trauma, Health care of the elderly, Cardiorespiratory and Oncology.

We are excited to offer you an accelerated training and education program to aid in your development as an occupational therapist. You will join us as an established band 5 and once you successfully complete the relevant training and evidence agreed competencies you will transition into one of our Band 6 OT’s on the band 6 rotation.

This fantastic opportunity is available for individuals who:

·Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy

·Have State Registration through the Health Care Professions Council

·Are already a band 5 and looking to progress to Band 6, with at least one fully completed rotation

·Please DO NOT apply if you are a new graduate (Please do apply for the band 5 cross site position)

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality occupational therapy interventions to a wide variety of patients including the advanced assessment and treatment of patients, provision of individual and group education and treatment, provision of assistive devices (orthotics) and equipment, minor structural home adaptations and provision of complex disability management and advocacy services.

To participate in the Band 6 rotational scheme working across Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, within Barts health NHS trust. This will require working in a range of ward settings and departments including Acute Assessment Unit, Stroke, Neurosciences, Health Care of the Elderly, Rehabilitation, Oncology, Cardiorespiratory, Medicine and Surgery, Vascular and Amputees, Hands and Community stroke and Neuro.
