The shift pattern is M-F 9-5

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. Applications from 2024 Newly Qualified Nurse/Midwife, will not be considered for this post.

 This is a key role within a Community Adult Mental Health Team. As a Community Psychiatric Charge Nurse you will have a key role in the delivery of care and development of the service with clinical and management responsibilities. You will have effective communication and assessment skills to develop person centred care plans in conjunction with MDT. This will allow you to deliver evidence based care and treatment and support to adults with mental health difficulties residing within South Glasgow. Within your clinical responsibilities of your patient caseload, you will also be responsible for administration of medication in both clinic settings and patient’s home environments and providing support to duty service which is covered by staff on a rota basis.

You will demonstrate positive leadership skills to support the Nurse Team Leader with involving change in mental health services. You will be required to be able to work independently and as part of the MDT. You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration with evidence of professional development, effective clinical and leadership skills. This post requires that pre-employment checks are carried out as part of GG&C Policy. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. This is a permanent post with part time hours; these hours will be worked over 2 days 9-5pm, this will be on a rostered basis, there may be an opportunity to consider specific days however this will be dependent on service needs.
