The Role

Focused on our social sustainability strategy, contributing to current targets and advancing our ESG agenda. Developing and delivering our Human Rights Due Diligence programme, throughout our supply chain. Alongside that, you’ll have a strong team around you, specifically, managing, supporting and developing our Social Sustainability Coordinator and in-country teams, who will work with you to identify the social impacts of how we do business across our value chain, acting to measure, monitor and remediate.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Develop and implement the company's social sustainability strategy in alignment with our overall sustainability goals and values Define and help to develop country strategy programmes, including monitoring current country issues and trends and focusing on factory remediation, visits and audit analysis Manage relationship and global audit programme with in-country partners Conduct review of salient risks, updating strategy priorities at least annually Propose and deliver projects based on the salient risks identified within our supply chain Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social sustainability programs and initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure adherence to ethical standards and social compliance requirements. Developing strong working relationships with ethical trade/sustainability managers in key suppliers to drive proactive engagement and improvement of supply base Overseeing supplier setups and factory registrations, coordinating with Sustainability Coordinator Implement efficient system which monitors key supplier’s performance monthly, analyse results and actively plan to improve Review and maintain supplier manual, sharing regular updates on processes and policies Represent New Looks interests at the Industry initiatives and manage associated projects while managing relationship with campaign groups, NGO’s and other key external stakeholders Lead the Modern Slavery Working Group, including planning, preparation, and implementation alongside Head of Sustainability Oversee and coordinate data systems and team reporting requirements, including annual Sustainability Report, Modern Slavery Statement, Fashion Transparency Index and Higg BRM Develop and manage effective training and communication (website, newsletters, presentations) for our BMD and Technical teams in our Social Sustainability agenda in line with our strategy Develop strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders, at times representing New Look in engagements with external partnerships Raise POs, and maintain invoices for memberships and projects Manage the monitoring and refreshing of the monthly factory list and public factory data lists on a biannual basis Keeping abreast of industry developments including legislative, presenting issue and solutions to wider teams to ensure compliance

Technical Knowledge & Behaviours

Experience in a commercial environment with working knowledge of human rights, sustainability, the SDGs and associated international standards Strong knowledge of global human rights issues Have managed/mentored/coached in a previous role Experienced with in-country supplier and project visits Previous experience within a social sustainability role, ideally within a fashion retailer or sustainability consultancy or NGO Preferred experience of conducting / shadowing social audits across different methodologies Ability to comprehend complex information and determine a decision
