As part of the responsible sourcing and ESG division at ASOS, the Third-party Branded Engagement team work cross functionally to uphold the ethical and sustainable principles of the company, driving progress towards both our Fashion With Integrity (FWI) goals and systemic industry change through the relationships we foster with our strategic Third-party Brand partners.
What you will be doing:
- Gather and validate HREDD, chemical compliance and animal welfare data for ASOS Third-party brand partners.
- Conduct risk assessments against ASOS Third-party brand supply chains and sourcing territories and helps to create corrective action plans to mitigate and remediate risks to planet and people.
- Analyse and feed back on data collected through the SAQ onboarding and annual review processes.
- Maintain the brand database, SBTi and Transparency pledge trackers.
- Manage the Fast Forward relationship: including engagement with UK brands to join and participate in the scheme.
- Liaise with brands on ASOS min requirements and legislative compliance, including HREDD, chemical compliance, animal welfare, factory lists and transparency.
- Support the Branded Engagement partner in meetings with Brands regarding environmental and Human rights concerns.
- Engage branded buying teams & branded engagement team on pre-onboarding qualifications for new brands.
- Manage a regular meeting schedule with branded buying teams and other critical internal stakeholders to provide regular communication on brand progress and business priorities.
- Support brands on their journey, answering queries and signposting them to information.
- Create reports for internal and external stakeholders and supports with data and systems.
- Work with brands, buying teams and compliance manager to ensure that all sustainable claims can be verified and are substantiated, and ensures that the environmental claims database is well maintained with all environmental claims and supporting evidences.
- Review and challenge current processes and ways of working to seek improvements to ensure that the Branded engagement programme is current and fit for purpose.
- Support on external communications.
- Support the branded engagement partner to develop & implement FWI goals within the branded ESG programme and develop the wider business strategy.
- Support on FWI training internally and externally for 3rd party brands and buying teams.
- Be responsible for maintaining and updating key internal & external communication tools
**Qualifications** Who We’d Like to Meet**
- A background in a Fashion Retail Head Office environment, preferably in an ethical trade, sustainability, buying or sourcing related role.
- Must have a passion for driving change in relation to improving ethical and sustainable practices across the industry
- Ability to work at pace but with attention to detail
- Knowledge of branded supplier set ups and onboarding processes
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft office packages, particularly Excel, word and Powerpoint
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear manner to a variety of audiences
- Tenacious individual with a strength for data analysis and problem solving
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Works collaboratively and effectively with others
- Embraces change with energy and enthusiasm
