An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Specialist Palliative and End of life Team in Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northern site.

To manage a Specialist Palliative Care and End of Life caseload. To engage in the full range of activities consistent with the role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist. To develop and sustain partnership working with individual groups, communities and agencies. Facilitate the planning and delivery of care programmes to address patient needs and develop/ improve the service

To provide high quality specialist palliative nursing care, advanced symptom management, advice, education and support to patients, relatives and carers. Working in collaboration and acting as a resource to other Clinical nurse Specialists, medical teams in providing expert advice and support for Speciality Palliative and End of life patients within RDUH (Northern Acute and Community).

 As a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist and part of the team you will be working closely with the Palliative Care Consultant, as well as with other members of the MDT, and Trust colleagues, to provide the highest standards of specialist nursing care to patients and relatives who have complex palliative care, symptom control and/or End of Life Care needs.

You must be compassionate, enthusiastic, motivated, act with integrity and respect diversity with competent IT skills. You will need commitment and drive and have a flexible adaptable approach to your work.

We require someone who can work both autonomously and as part of a team. Leadership, innovation, motivation and excellent communication skills are essential.

We will endeavour to support you to develop your skills, knowledge and experience further, to enhance the needs in delivering ‘outstanding ‘care to our population.

You will be based in North Devon District Hospital but may need to travel to meet patient needs/ deliver education.
