Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Specialist Medicine for a Support Secretary within the new Post Covid Syndrome Service. The successful candidate will be able to work remotely for Cornwall foundation NHS Trust.

Emerging evidence and patient testimony are showing a growing number of people who contract COVID-19 cannot shake off the effects of the virus months after initially falling ill. Symptoms are wide-ranging and fluctuating, and can include breathlessness, chronic fatigue, "brain fog", anxiety and stress.

The post holder will need to be an enthusiastic, motivated person who can offer excellent secretarial and administration skills to assist in the efficient delivery of the Post Covid Syndrome Service.

To be successful you will have excellent audio-typing, organisational and communication skills. Have a flexible and professional approach to the work and enjoy the variety of communicating with a wide range of people both internal and external to the Trust. Please note whilst previous NHS experience is desirable this is not essential and training and development opportunities will be available on appointment.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, efficient general administrative support for various key functions within the Countywide Post Covid Service. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive information/data collection and reporting, ensuring it is fit for purpose. To ensure effective lines of communication between team members, patients, and others, whilst maintaining confidentiality at all time

The post holder will be required to manage and prioritise their workload and use their initiative, without direct supervision for routine tasks. This will require good organisational skills and the ability to cope with working to tight deadlines and with frequent interruptions.
