We are seeking to appoint an initiative-taking an Administrator, who would love the opportunity to make an impact on the administration team at Southfield school in the delivery of an outstanding service to all stakeholders.

All pupils have an EHCP, which often states a diagnosis of Autism and associated Speech, Language and Communication needs. Children may demonstrate challenging behaviours.

- **Purpose of Job**_
- To assist the Office Manager, and Senior Leadership Team in the day to day running of the school
- To work closely with the Office Manager and Senior Leadership Team to meet the strategic aims of the school
- To support in formulating the aims and objectives of the school
- Support in establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives and managing staff and resources to that end
- Line manage and hold to account other staff as directed
- **Key responsibilities as an Administrator of the School Administration Team**_
- To support and promote the school’s ethos, vison, and values in order to promote the welfare, progress and continued development of the school and its children
- To contribute to the strategic direction and improvement of the school
- To take an active role in the recruitment of staff as directed
- To work with and report to all stakeholders including parents/carers, Friends of Southfield School, and governors, as appropriate
- To take on specific tasks related to the day-to-day administration and organisation of the school as requested by the Office Manager and Senior Leadership Team
- To have the skills set to analyse and evaluate data and information and run reports.
- To undertake word-processing and IT based tasks including operation of relevant equipment and advanced ICT packages such as Microsoft Office Suite
- To contribute to the planning and development of administrative procedures and systems
- To respond to reception and visitor enquiries and all stakeholders as required
- Build positive relationships with members of the school community, local community of schools and wider networks
- Seek training and continuing professional development to meet own needs
- **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**_
- Knowledge for implementing a range of administrative procedures, including use of relevant ICT packages and systems.
- Ability to conduct a variety of tasks within set frameworks; requires creative skills for e.g., developing administrative procedures. Analytical skills for monitoring and analysis of information and data
- Ability to communicate with staff, pupils, and external agencies, such as suppliers, dealing with a range of issues.
- Most tasks require keyboard skills used with precision and speed
- An excellent interpersonal approach whether this be face to face or in person with all stakeholders
- Makes decisions about own administrative work. Decision-making is short term; more complex decisions are referred to senior staff.
- **Problems, Demands & Decisions**_
- Ability to assesses and resolves day to day problems
- Ability to Deal with difficult visitors/parents, resolving issues.
- Ability to work within clear guidelines but deals with unexpected problems. Involved in decision-making and planning of the administrative service but has access to a supervisor for more difficult issues.
- Ability to concentrate on administrative tasks; work is regularly interrupted
