Reporting to the HR Director, SupplyChain and Operations, this role will be pivotal to ensuring thesuccess of the new network strategy. Leading a small team of highlytalented HR Project and Change Managers, the successful candidatewill lead the planning for the people element of the networkstrategy and multiple projects to deliver this such as the peopleplan for the opening of our new London site, standardisingorganisation design across the network, developing a strategicworkforce plan aligned to the networkstrategy.

This role is home-based, however willrequire frequent travel across the UK to visit our depot network,particularly in and around London, so flexibility with travel isessential.

Key Accountabilities andResponsibilities:  

  • Partnerthe Directors of Network Strategy and Delivery to ensure that thereare people plans that align with the networkstrategy.
  • Lead a small team of HR Project andChange
  • Liaise closely with all the HR COEs toensure that they are engaged with the changes at the earliestopportunity.
  • Develop and deliver plans foropening the new London depot that will ensure a successful launchincluding workforce planning, pay strategy, onboarding, inductionand team development.
  • Establishment of theleadership team for the new London depot including embeddingbehaviours to drive the culture and capability to lead our largestdepot in Europe.
  • Work with the Director ofNetwork Delivery to understand the impact of technology changes onthe network and develop people plans to support theirimplementation.
  • Deliver and embed standard ODacross the network including standard organisation structures, roledescriptions, and development interventions by leadershiplevel.
  • Develop pipeline of colleagues to meetfuture frontline, management and leadership requirements throughappropriate mechanisms e.g. apprenticeships, graduate programmes,developmentplans.

Required skillsand competencies

We’relooking for a highly experienced HR professional who has a proventrack record in both generalist HR and organisational development,ideally from a logistics/supply chain background. A CIPD Level 7qualification is essential for this role. You’ll be able to thinkcreatively and strategically whilst positively influencing andcollaborating with senior leaders across the business. This rolesuits someone who is highly organised and capable of leadingmultiple workstreams, identifying interdependencies and ensuringyou bring these together in a streamlined way with a focus onmanagers and colleagues. You’ll also be an experienced leader whowill ensure that your team has a clear vision, objectives and arewell engaged and developed. A great HR role for someone who thrivesdriving and managing complex change, creating and delivering newstrategy and keen to get involved in the detail of workforceplanning.
