Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a responsible Administrator to provide comprehensive and effective administrative support to enable the delivery of this service. The post holder will work within the Administration Team, alongside Specialist Screening Practitioners and Screening Endoscopists.
The NCA/Pennine Bowel Cancer Screening Programme currently provides Screening to people aged between 54-74yrs, that are registered with a GP.
Screening plays a key role in supporting health, including early diagnosis, effective treatment packages and lives being saved.
Consulting with external supporting departments: Endoscopy, Hub, Histopathology, Radiology, Medical Records and Interpreters, to ensure that all Participants receive a positive experience and professional service.
In return, the post holder will join a vibrant & dedicated team. They will be provided with an induction/training plan, they will attend regular team and 1:1 meetings, plus have support with their own personal development plan.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for the provision of a full and effective administrative support service to the Screening Centre.
They will be expected to arrange and plan their own work on a day-to-day basis, within the overall demands and priorities of the Centre.
They will review working practices to support the daily operational running of the service and maintain/ promote effective communication
The general administrative duties will include:
First point of call for all telephone queries Booking appointments/procedures/interpreters Creation of care plans Tracking histology and other aspects of the Participant pathway Management of internal diaries Stock control and ordering of office supplies/other consumable requirements Photocopying & scanning Note taking/minutes Administrative support of Audits Adherence to the standards of the Trust and the Screening Centre To undertake any other duties as appropriate to the nature and grade of the post

Essential
Proven administration experience Experience of PAS or Hospital IT Systems IT literate including well developed Word Processing, Excel, Outlook and Data Inputting skills Excellent communication and people skills Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team Ability to use own initiative and cope well in a pressurised environment Understand the need to always maintain confidentiality Demonstrate excellent organisation and prioritisation abilities
