LOCATION: Stevenage Campus or Remote

JOB PURPOSE:

As part of the Operations management team, you will have operational oversight of the sectors we work within, with responsibility of the management and planning of the sector to help reach our business objectives. You will contribute to the governance requirements and support the Heads of Apprenticeship in setting the business direction. The focus of the role is the strategic leadership, direction and management of the operational processes, functions, and performance across our sector.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Occupational competence and/or through qualification at Level 3 or above or at least 2 years’ experience working within relevant sector area GCSE A*-C or equivalent in maths and English Assessment & Verification qualifications e.g. A1 & V1. Relevant teacher training qualification – DTLLS/Cert Ed. Extensive experience in setting up and managing high quality/high performing apprenticeship programmes. Experience in managing and leading a team with the ability to inspire and motivate to deliver high performance. Understanding and experience of Ofsted EIF, and ability to support delivery teams to develop towards outstanding. Good working knowledge of ESFA funding rules. Ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. Experience in conducting observations of teaching and learning and identifying key strengths and areas for improvement to lead to continuous improvement across the provision. Commercially aware and motivated towards successes with the ability to achieve KPI’s and business objectives. Ability to analyse data and provide accurate reports on performance, financial and quality data Proactive problem solver. Good working knowledge of Excel and other data management packages, such as MIS Unit-e and ProAchieve and e-portfolio systems. There will be a requirement to travel to meet students and occasionally attend meetings in Hertfordshire. A driving licence is therefore essential or ability to travel.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the delivery of a range of commercial full cost and apprenticeship programmes across the Business, Retail, Management and Professional provision ensuring consistently outstanding teaching, learning and assessment delivery. Take full responsibility for managing, supervising, monitoring and supporting a team of Tutors in their delivery of a positive learning journey by motivating, engaging and fully supporting them to achieve their expected key performance indicators Effective team management including communication, recruitment, training, and performance management Manage the business direction on our commercial focus to innovate our delivery and embed the design to align to our Apprenticeship offer Co-ordinate the set-up of new programmes including OneFile plans, timetables, rooming, learner registrations and enrolments, schemes of work and delivery plans. Manage the End Point Assessment process for the scope of the teams’ provision ensuring relevant monitoring and tracing to achieve timely completion. Lead through department collaboration and working closely with the data team to ensure learner achievement is being claimed in good time and monitor ILR data as part of the monthly business cycle to ensure learner data is accurate, including but not limited to achiever claims, breaks in learning, reinstatements and withdrawals. Manage and maintain tutor’s caseloads and planning any required actions swiftly through monthly 121’s. Manage quarterly progress reviews planning with tutors for all learners to ensure reviews are carried out timely and are of high quality. Ensure KPI’s and business objectives are achieved through participation and contribution to the Performance Board cycle, ie prepare performance board reports, SAR’s, QIPs Attend regular quarterly employer review of Apprentice meetings for SME clients and in support of larger clients as necessary and required. Support the implementation of the IQA process and strategy. Contribute to the Hart Learning Group Quality cycle, performing developmental and formal observations and supporting tutors to develop. Work closely with the sales function to develop existing client accounts and identify new opportunities. Collaborate and work amongst departments for efficient and effective processes. Lead and manage highest quality compliance and qualification requirements from the start of the Apprentice journey to the end across the team of tutors and their Apprentices, ensuring risks are proactively mitigated. Management of retention and engagement across the whole portfolio caseload of learners. Monitor and drive the team’s actions through data decisions to be proactively identifying risk management Plan timetables supporting key account managers and ensuring schedules deliver to the highest standard and accurate progress updates.
