SALARY: Up to £36,000 depending on experience

JOB PURPOSE:

In this role you will spend half your time managing an area of the apprenticeship provision and half as a tutor to apprentices.

As part of the management team, you will have oversight of part of the apprenticeship provision including responsibility for the management and planning of standards and full cost courses within our portfolio. You will contribute to the governance requirements and support the Head of Apprenticeship and programme managers in setting the business direction.

As a tutor with a passion for training and skills, you will plan and deliver a range of programmes which will primarily be apprenticeships but may include short courses and full cost courses. You will bring learning to life in a way that engages learners and supports them to achieve high quality outcomes in a timely manner.

Due to the current portfolio of learners, successful applicants will need to be based at Stevenage campus at least 3 days per week.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Occupational competence and/or through qualification at Level 3 or above or at least 2 years’ experience working within relevant sector area Extensive experience delivering high quality/high performing apprenticeship programmes. Understanding and experience of Ofsted EIF, and ability to support delivery teams to develop towards outstanding. An understanding of ESFA funding rules. Ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. Experience in conducting observations of teaching and learning to provide feedback. Experience using this to identify key strengths and areas for improvement to lead to continuous improvement across the provision is desirable. Commercially aware and motivated towards successes with the ability to achieve KPI’s and business objectives. Ability to analyse data and provide accurate reports on performance, financial and quality data Proactive problem solver. Good working knowledge of Excel and other data management packages, such as MIS Unit-e and ProAchieve and e-portfolio systems. There will be a requirement to travel to meet students in addition to being based at the Stevenage Campus. GCSE A*-C or equivalent in maths and English Assessment & Verification qualifications e.g. A1 & V1. A relevant teacher training qualification is desirable – DTLLS/Cert Ed.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Take full responsibility for managing, supervising, monitoring and supporting a team of Tutors in their delivery of a positive learning journey by motivating, engaging and fully supporting them to achieve their expected key erformance indicators. Effective team management including communication, recruitment, training, and performance management Co-ordinate the set-up of new programmes including OneFile plans, timetables, rooming, learner registrations and enrolments, schemes of work and delivery plans. Manage the End Point Assessment process for the scope of the teams’ provision ensuring relevant monitoring and tracing to achieve timely completion. Lead through department collaboration and working closely with the data team to ensure learner achievement is being claimed in good time and monitor ILR data as part of the monthly business cycle to ensure learner data is accurate, including but not limited to achiever claims, breaks in learning, reinstatements and withdrawals. Manage and maintain tutor’s caseloads and planning any required actions swiftly through monthly 121’s. Manage quarterly progress reviews planning with tutors for all learners to ensure reviews are carried out timely and are of high quality. Lead and manage highest quality compliance and qualification requirements from the start of the Apprentice journey to the end across the team of tutors and their Apprentices, ensuring risks are proactively mitigated. Deliver high quality apprenticeship programmes in own specialist area including end to end support including onboarding and initial assessment, assessment and coaching through the programme and preparation for end point assessment. Deliver high quality training to apprentices ensuring promotion of maths and English, fundamental British Values and careers information. Ensure apprenticeship progress is correctly recorded and compliant with organisational and national requirements.
