About the role


As the Deputy Manager in the RPU VRS, your role will be to assist the Unit Manager in the management and development of the Force’s Contract Vehicle Recovery Scheme, ensuring that an effective and efficient service is provided and maintained

Your role on any day may include:


• In the absence of the Unit Manager; to be responsible for the effective management and development of the JOU Vehicle Recovery Scheme encompassing the maintenance of appropriate systems and databases, force policy and procedures, and performance management.

• To provide effective tactical leadership to the CVRS Administrators to ensure that workloads are appropriately allocated and monitored and that the individuals are highly motivated towards the delivery of personal role requirements, Departmental and Force objectives.

• To ensure compliance in relation to procedures for the retention, safe keeping and disposal of recovered vehicles in accordance with Force Policy, Police Property Act and Road Traffic Laws and Regulations.

• Ensure compliance with accurate information being supplied to recovery operators when making requests for owner details and other related matters to ensure the effective running of the scheme.

• To provide advice, guidance and training as appropriate to Force personnel, and to liaise with members of the public and outside agencies and other bodies having a legitimate interest in vehicle recovery scheme.
