About the Role

As the Deputy Manager within the Vehicle Recovery Scheme, your primary responsibility will be to support the Unit Manager in overseeing and enhancing the Force's Contract Vehicle Recovery Scheme. This ensures a consistently effective and efficient service is delivered and maintained.

Your daily tasks may include:

  • In the absence of the Unit Manager, you will assume full responsibility for managing and developing the Joint Operations Unit (JOU) Vehicle Recovery Scheme. This encompasses maintaining appropriate systems and databases, force policies and procedures, and performance management.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the CVRS Administrators, ensuring workloads are effectively allocated and monitored. You'll motivate the team to achieve individual role requirements, departmental objectives, and overall Force goals.
  • Guarantee compliance with established procedures for the retention, secure storage, and disposal of recovered vehicles. This adherence must align with Force Policy, the Police Property Act, and Road Traffic Laws and Regulations.
  • Ensure accurate information is provided to recovery operators when requesting owner details and other relevant matters. This contributes to the smooth operation of the scheme.
  • Offer advice, guidance, and support to stakeholders within the organization regarding vehicle recovery processes and procedures.

About You

You possess a strong understanding of vehicle recovery operations and procedures. Your experience in managing teams and implementing effective systems is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.
